Drama [Law and the City] Script Book Set

The tvN weekend drama 《Law and the City》 is being released as a script book. Set in Seoul’s Seocho-dong legal district—home to massive courthouses and hundreds of law firms—it follows five associate lawyers as they navigate the intensity of daily life. They are neither heroes of justice nor villains manipulating cases. Instead, they survive the grind of long hours, workplace fatigue, and emotional exhaustion, leaning on small laughs and moments of comfort to get through each day.

The 《Law and the City》 script book includes the full scripts and dialogue from every episode, along with behind-the-scenes commentary from the writer. These notes reveal the writer’s thoughts during development, including character design, scene intentions, and reflections on the blurred line between fiction and reality.

It also features real prop documents used during filming—such as case files, lawyer’s notes, and court submissions—giving readers the chance to explore the details that may have passed by quickly on screen.

Additionally, the book includes scenes cut during script revisions or editing—offering new insights into certain cases and deeper emotional arcs of the characters that didn’t make it to broadcast. It even explains lines and scenes that were added on set based on input from the actors and director, showing how on-site interpretation shaped the final dialogue.

Even after the drama ends, this script book offers continued comfort and connection—just in a different form.

tvN 토일드라마 《서초동》이 대본집으로 출간된다. 서울 서초동 법조타운. 거대한 법원과 수백 개의 로펌이 모여 있는 이곳에서 월급을 받으며 일하는 어쏘 변호사 다섯 명은 매일 치열한 하루를 살아간다. 그들은 정의를 구현하는 영웅도, 사건을 꾸미는 악인도 아니다. 회식 자리에서 툭 튀어나오는 푸념과 야근의 피로, 반복되는 업무 속에 찾아오는 무력감에 흔들리면서도 작은 웃음과 위로로 하루를 버틴다.

《서초동》 대본집은 드라마 전 회차 지문과 대사는 물론 비하인드 대본 코멘터리를 수록해 집필 과정에서 작가가 고민했던 인물 설정, 장면 의도, 현실과 드라마의 경계에 대한 생각들을 엿볼 수 있게 했다. 드라마 속 사건 의뢰서, 변호사 메모, 법원 제출 서류 등 실제 촬영 현장에서 사용된 소품 문서 일부도 그대로 공개한다. 화면에서 스쳐 지나갔던 디테일을 독자들이 직접 확인할 수 있다.
