"Wonderful World" is a human mystery drama in which Kim Nam-joo, making her return to dramas, and Cha Eun-woo, a member of Astro who is popular as a 'face genius', co-star. The story revolves around Eun Soo-hyun (played by Kim Nam-joo), who personally executes the murderer who killed her son, as she uncovers the mysterious secrets entangled on that day. The story begins as Hyun, who personally executed the perpetrator who killed her son, stands trial. Hyun, who has already released herself into numerous scars and guilt, begins her prison life by receiving a seven-year sentence without parole after refusing leniency, drawing a line even in her final closing argument, saying, "Even if I go back, I will make the same choice. I do not seek clemency." After declaring her separation from her husband Soo-ho in prison and refusing contact with others, Hyun, trembling with longing for her son, accidentally injures her hand while doing sewing work. Even amidst the flowing blood, her empty eyes add to the pathos. When her mother, Go Eun (played by Won Mi-kyung), visits her in the hospital, Hyun, with her hands wrapped in bandages, cries out, "Mom, I feel like I've closed the door. I'm sure I closed it," revealing the bone-crushing guilt of motherhood...

<원더풀 월드>는 김남주의 드라마 복귀작이자 ‘얼굴 천재’로 인기를 누리고 있는 아스트로 멤버 겸 배우 차은우가 호흡한 작품으로 아들을 죽인 살인범을 직접 처단한 은수현(김남주 분)이 그날에 얽힌 미스터리한 비밀을 파헤쳐 가는 휴먼 미스터리 드라마다. 아들을 살해한 가해자를 직접 처단한 수현이 재판을 받으면서 시작됐다. 이미 수많은 상처와 죄책감 속에 자신을 놓아버린 수현은 마지막 최후 변론에서도 “저는 다시 돌아간다고 해도 같은 선택을 할 것입니다. 선처, 바라지 않습니다”라고 선을 그으며 감형을 거부한 채 징역 7년을 구형 받고 교도소 생활을 시작한다. 교도소에서 남편 수호에게 이별을 선언한 후 타인의 접촉을 거부한 채 아들을 향한 그리움에 몸서리치던 수현은 급기야 미싱 작업을 하다가 손등을 박음질하는 사고를 저지르고 만다. 피가 철철 흐르는 가운데에도 텅 빈 눈동자는 애처로움을 더한다. 병원으로 찾아온 엄마 고은(원미경 분)을 향해 붕대로 둘둘 감은 손을 바닥에 내리치며 “엄마 나 대문 닫은 것 같아. 분명 닫았어”라고 울부짖는 수현의 모습은 모성의 뼈아픈 죄책감을 드러내는데….
