Exit 8

In the crowded subway, amid the hustle and bustle, the protagonist—I—chooses to ignore a baby and its mother in distress. After getting off the subway, I unknowingly falls into a cycle of searching for the “Exit 8,” trapped in an endless loop. The underground passageway gradually transforms into a situation reminiscent of Dante’s Divine Comedy—like Purgatory. One by one, new characters appear, each with their own personal reasons for needing to escape this place. As they find themselves trapped in this “Purgatory,” they must confront the sins they’ve committed.

The story delves into the unpredictable consequences of the protagonist's choices, whether they discover the anomaly or not. With each step, the protagonists' hidden original sins unfold. Will I be able to escape from Exit 8 and the maze of life? The narrative raises the question: Can one ever truly escape their past, and what happens when you're stuck in a never-ending loop of regret?

모두가 바쁜 만원 지하철 안에서 곤경에 처한 아기와 어머니를 외면한 ‘나’는, 지하철에서 내린 후 자신도 모르게 무한 루프가 반복되는 ‘8번 출구’ 찾기에 빠지게 된다. 단테의 [신곡]에 등장하는 ‘연옥’과 같은 상황으로 변해 버린 지하통로. 차례차례 등장하는 주인공들인 ‘나’는, 저마다 지금 이곳을 빠져나가야만 하는 다양한 이유를 간직한 채 이 ‘연옥’ 속에 갇히게 된 자신이 저지른 죄와 마주하게 된다.

이상 현상을 발견했을 때와 발견하지 못할 경우, 주인공의 눈앞에 펼쳐지는 선택지의 예측 불가한 결과들. 그리고, 무한 루프에 빠지게 된 주인공들의 숨겨진 원죄 스토리. ‘8번 출구’, 그리고 ‘인생의 미궁’으로부터 과연 ‘나’는 무사히 탈출할 수 있을 것인지….
