The first daughter (Han Chae-ah) can’t leave home because of her sense of responsibility, the second daughter (Han Sunhwa) dreamt of being a writer but returns home empty-handed, the youngest daughter (Song Jihyun) dreams of leaving the family and finding freedom in Seoul, and our narrator is the single mother (Cha Mi-kyung) who raised the three daughters. Like it or not, Yeongdo, Busan is their hometown, seemingly impossible to leave. One day the three daughters find a bundle of old letters written in Japanese and learn their mother’s 50 years of secrets she buried in her heart.
