Movie [The World of Us: Original Screenplay] *10th Anniversary Special*

The screenplay book for the film 〈The World of Us〉 is being published for the first time to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the movie’s release.

The World of Us is director Yoon Ga-eun’s feature debut, officially invited to the Generation Competition and Best First Feature sections of the 66th Berlin International Film Festival. In 2024, it was included in the “100 Greatest Korean Films of All Time” selected by filmmakers and has even been featured in elementary school Korean language textbooks.

Director and screenwriter Yoon Ga-eun won the Best New Director Award at the 37th Blue Dragon Film Awards, the Best Screenplay Award (Film Division) at the 53rd Baeksang Arts Awards, and the Best New Director Award at the 36th Korean Association of Film Critics Awards for this film.

This screenplay book, published to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the film, is designed as a richly composed collector’s edition. It includes the full original screenplay, still cuts, behind-the-scenes photos, and commentary from 31 actors and staff members who worked on The World of Us.

The reflections of Choi Soo-in, Seol Hye-in, Lee Seo-yeon, and other actresses—who once played 11-year-old girls and are now adults—looking back on the passionate summer on set will be a heartfelt gift to everyone who loves The World of Us.

영화 〈우리들〉의 각본집이 영화 제작 10주년을 기념하여 최초 출간된다. 〈우리들〉은 윤가은 감독의 장편 데뷔작으로, 제66회 베를린국제영화제 제너레이션 경쟁 부문 및 최우수 장편 데뷔작 부문에 공식 초청되었다. 2024년에는 영화인들이 선정한 ‘역대 최고 한국영화 100선’에 포함되었으며, 초등학교 국어 교과서에도 실린 바 있다. 각본 및 연출을 맡은 윤가은 감독은 이 영화로 제37회 청룡영화상 신인감독상, 제53회 백상예술대상 영화 부문 시나리오상, 제36회 한국영화평론가협회상 신인감독상 등을 수상했다.

이번 각본집은 영화 제작 10주년을 기념하여 최초로 출간되는 만큼 풍성한 구성의 애장판으로 꾸려졌다. 오리지널 각본 전문, 스틸 컷 및 촬영장 비하인드 컷, 그리고 영화 〈우리들〉을 함께 만든 배우 및 스태프 31인의 코멘터리가 수록됐다. 최수인, 설혜인, 이서연 등 작중 열한 살의 소녀를 연기했던 배우들이 어느덧 성인이 되어 뜨거웠던 촬영 현장의 여름을 되새기는 목소리는 〈우리들〉을 사랑하는 모두에게 그 자체로 애틋한 선물이 될 것이다.
