In September 2022, at a Seoul Auction, the artwork "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of Mauritius," paying homage to Georges Seurat's painting, sold for 110 million won, instantly propelling painter Kim Sun-woo to stardom. Known as the "Dodo Bird Painter," his first essay was released in 2024, seeking readership.

The "Dodo" depicted by Kim Sun-woo is a bird that adapted to its environment in the absence of natural enemies. Inhabiting the island of Mauritius, located east of Madagascar, this bird faced extinction in 1681 due to indiscriminate hunting by humans.
