Renowned saxophonist Shin Hyun-pil and pianist Go Hee-an present their new album "Dear Mozart," the third installment of their classical-jazz crossover project started in 2019. Following the success of their previous albums "Dear Chopin" (2019) and "Dear Shubert" (2022), they reinterpret the works of Mozart, showcasing the richness and diverse spectrum of his music across his lifetime.

In "Dear Mozart," Shin Hyun-pil and Go Hee-an carefully selected 11 tracks to convey Mozart's multifaceted compositions, aiming to capture the essence of his music while adding a jazz flair. With meticulous attention to detail, they express the complexity and sophistication of Mozart's music using only saxophone and piano, infusing each piece with bold tempo changes and improvisational elements.

The album includes well-known Mozart masterpieces such as Piano Sonata No. 16, Piano Concerto No. 23, and Violin Sonata No. 21 in E Minor, as well as popular works like "Wiegenlied (Lullaby) K.350," "12 Variations on 'Ah vous dirai-je, Maman' K.265," and "Piano Sonata No.11 In A Major, K.331."

Both Shin Hyun-pil and Go Hee-an are prominent figures in the Korean jazz scene, alumni of Berklee College of Music. Shin Hyun-pil expands his musical endeavors beyond performance, working as a music director for films and dramas, while Go Hee-an is known for her versatile musical activities, including collaborations with the likes of Lee Hee-moon in the Ego Project.

To celebrate the release of "Dear Mozart," Shin Hyun-pil and Go Hee-an will hold a solo concert at Sejong Cultural Center's Chamber Hall on May 6, 2024.
