[The Bath Fairy] English editon

Storybowl’s “Baek Heena Picture Book English Edition” is a collection that presents 12 of author Baek Heena’s representative works—such as “Moon Pops,” “Bath Fairy,” and “Magic Candies”—in their official English versions. The entire process of translation, editing, and design has been newly refined, with Professor Jieun Kiaer, a linguist at Oxford University, and English-language experts participating in the translation and review to carefully preserve the original rhythm and emotional tone.

This edition features a handy, easy-to-hold format, along with official artwork drawings and a refined, sensory design, enhancing its overall quality. In addition, English and Korean audiobooks are available separately on audiobook platforms, offering an expanded reading experience that combines both reading and listening.

This is the English edition of Baek Heena’s picture book “Jangsu Bath Fairy,” which tells the story of Deokji and the fairy grandmother building a special friendship while sharing yogurt in the cold bath of an old public bathhouse.

Scenes staged with dolls and sets in an actual bathhouse add a whimsical and warm sense of magic to familiar everyday life. Baek Heena’s distinctive visual storytelling techniques are vividly showcased, highlighting her unique and imaginative artistic style.
