Yeong-I's Plastic Umbrella - English Version

〈Yeong-I's Plastic Umbrella〉 is the sixth book in the "Our Poetry Picture Book" series, which adapts traditional children’s songs, poems, and children’s poetry into picture book texts. This English picture book tells the story of a vinyl umbrella, an item that is now becoming forgotten, to convey the importance of thinking of our marginalized neighbors and having a heart that is willing to share, even the smallest things.

The narrative, which unfolds like a story about a real event, and the realistic illustrations that follow Young’s movements, gently and sensitively depict Young's emotions. The scenery of a rainy day is so vivid that one can almost hear the sound of raindrops, and Young's shyness and courage as she offers the vinyl umbrella to the old beggar stir the heart deeply.
