Drama [The Scarecrow] Script Book Set

ENA's Monday–Tuesday drama 〈The Scarecrow〉, which generated intense buzz from its premiere with its original premise of exploring what happens after the real culprit in a serial murder case has been caught—inspired by real-life criminal cases—now comes to readers as the uncut writer's script book.

Spanning 31 years, from 1988 to 2019, 〈The Scarecrow〉 follows detective Kang Tae-joo and prosecutor Cha Si-young—whom he despises most—as they form a precarious partnership to uncover the truth behind a series of serial murders.

This script book presents writer Lee Ji-hyun's original screenplay in its complete, unabridged form. Readers can discover the dialogue and stage directions that served as the foundation for the powerhouse performances of Park Hae-soo, Lee Hee-jun, Kwak Sun-young, Jung Moon-sung, and the rest of the cast, while also seeing how the actors interpreted and expanded the characters' emotions and narratives into unforgettable scenes.

The volume also includes previously unaired scenes omitted from the broadcast version, the writer's note and behind-the-scenes account of the writing process published here for the first time, and in-depth interviews with the writer and director, offering fresh perspectives through the eyes of a special interviewer. Together, these exclusive materials provide an even richer appreciation of the drama and its lasting impact.

실제 사건에서 모티브를 얻은 연쇄살인 사건의 ‘진범 검거 이후’를 다룬 독창적인 설정으로 시작부터 강렬한 화제를 모은 ENA 월화 드라마 〈허수아비〉가 작가판 무삭제 대본집으로 독자들을 찾아온다. 〈허수아비〉는 1988년부터 2019년까지 31년의 시간을 가로지르며 형사 강태주와 그가 가장 혐오하던 검사 차시영의 아슬아슬한 공조를 중심으로, 연쇄살인 사건의 진실을 좇는 작품이다.

이번 대본집은 작가 이지현의 오리지널 대본을 원본 그대로 담아냈다. 박해수, 이희준, 곽선영, 정문성을 비롯한 배우들의 압도적인 열연이 어떤 대사와 지문에서 출발했는지, 그리고 인물의 감정과 서사를 어떻게 해석하고 확장해 하나의 장면으로 탄생시켰는지를 생생하게 확인할 수 있다. 여기에 본 방송에서는 볼 수 없었던 미방영 신, 처음으로 공개되는 작가의 말과 집필기, 스페셜 인터뷰어의 시선으로 한층 더 깊이 드라마를 들여다보는 작가·감독 인터뷰까지 수록해 그 여운을 더했다.
