Hongttoknit’s Knits Made with Love

젊은 감각과 정교한 도안으로 뜨개인들의 사랑을 받아온 도안 디자이너 홍또닛의 첫 책이다. 전자공학을 전공한 저자는 첫 도안을 발표한 뒤 3년 동안 50여 종의 니트 도안을 선보였으며, 글로벌 뜨개 플랫폼 'Ravelry'에서 누적 다운로드 3만 회를 기록했다. 2024년 네이버 DIY 분야 '이달의 블로그'로 선정되었고, 서울 핸드메이드 페어와 도쿄 하비쇼에서도 작품을 선보였다.

스웨터, 카디건, 베스트, 탑, 후드 티셔츠, 레그워머 등 홍또닛의 대표작과 미공개 도안을 포함한 13점의 작품을 수록했다. 빈티지한 분위기를 현대적으로 재해석한 디자인부터 독특한 색 조합과 실루엣이 돋보이는 작품까지, 메리야스, 배색, 아란 세 가지 기법으로 나누어 소개한다. 평소 입는 옷과 자연스럽게 어울리는 니트웨어를 직접 디자인하고 떠서 입는 감각과 노하우를 담았다.

실은 덜 끊고, 과정은 단순하게, 완성된 옷은 근사하게 만드는 것을 목표로 도안을 설계했다. 작품마다 재료, 완성 치수, 게이지, 난도를 안내하고 서술 도안과 차트 도안을 함께 담았으며, 대바늘뜨기의 기초 기법은 단계별 사진으로 설명했다. QR 코드로 연결되는 작품 자료실에서는 도안 업데이트 정보와 기법 동영상, 확대해 볼 수 있는 차트 PDF도 확인할 수 있다.

This is the first book by Hongddonit, a knitwear pattern designer beloved by knitters for her fresh, contemporary style and intricate designs. Originally trained in electronic engineering, the author has released more than 50 knitting patterns in the three years since publishing her first design, earning a total of 30,000 downloads on the global knitting platform Ravelry. In 2024, she was selected as Naver’s “Blog of the Month” in the DIY category and showcased her work at the Seoul Handmade Fair and Tokyo Hobby Show.

The book features 13 designs, including Hongddonit’s signature pieces and previously unpublished patterns for sweaters, cardigans, vests, tops, hoodies, leg warmers, and more. From designs that give vintage styles a modern twist to pieces distinguished by unique color combinations and silhouettes, the patterns are organized into three techniques: stockinette stitch, colorwork, and Aran knitting. The book shares the sensibility and know-how needed to design, knit, and wear your own knitwear that blends naturally with your everyday wardrobe.

Each pattern is designed with three goals in mind: minimizing yarn breakage, simplifying the knitting process, and creating beautifully finished garments. For every project, the book provides materials, finished measurements, gauge, and difficulty level, along with both written instructions and charts. Basic knitting techniques are explained through step-by-step photographs. The online project resource library, accessible via QR codes, also offers pattern updates, technique videos, and downloadable PDF charts that can be enlarged for easier viewing.
