Eight years after parting with words that left the deepest wounds, a mysterious phone call brings them together once again.

What begins in South Korea unfolds across Hanoi Airport, a train bound for Laos, the Mekong River, and the mountain roads of northern Thailand. Plans unravel, clues multiply, and the two clash at every turn. Yet their constant friction is the novel's driving force. Ire always rushes to save the person in front of her, while Solmin first calculates the safest escape route. Their opposing instincts create crises as often as they become the key to overcoming them.

『Olives Under the Sun』 combines the momentum of a suspenseful pursuit with an intimate story of two people rebuilding a fractured relationship. Solmin believes the world can ultimately be understood, while Ire finds herself overwhelmed by the things that defy explanation, often choosing to flee rather than confront them.
