Though she lives with prosopagnosia (face blindness) without letting others notice, Kami reads the world not by recognizing human faces, but through the texture of clothing, gaits, and the worn spots left by touch. A secret is also hidden behind why Kami came to study fashion design. It stems from the death of her parents right before her eyes when she was around three years old. Driven by the tenacity to uncover the truth of that day—using as clues a third silhouette that was absent from the case records yet undeniably present, alongside the distinct texture of a silhouette still seemingly engraved on her fingertips—that obsession has guided Kami's life.

Beneath the tension of tracking an unsolved case, the novel harbors a narrative of twists that slowly moves toward lost emotions and love. As readers follow Kami's perspective, they naturally come to sense worn traces instead of faces and warm temperatures instead of expressions. And as they discover things that do not fade over time, such as body odor lingering on clothes and scars carved into furniture, they will feel the lingering shadow of love in the novel vividly emerging within their own lives at some point.
