[Yeoni and the Willow Boy] English edition

Baek Heena’s picture books, beloved by readers around the world, have been published as an official English-language collection. Featuring 12 of her representative works—including “Yeoni and the Willow Boy”—this collection presents them anew in English, offering a fresh reading experience through translations that preserve the original tone and rhythm. It has been designed as a collectible picture book series for both children and adults.

The story follows Yeoni, who sets out in the middle of winter to find lettuce and, beyond a stone door, encounters the warmth of spring and a mysterious figure known as the Willow Bachelor. Even amid the trials that come after a brief moment of peace, the story portrays relationships and emotions that bloom with resilience. Based on a traditional folktale, the narrative leaves a warm yet lasting impression.

The translation and editing were completed with the participation of an Oxford linguist and language experts, enhancing its overall quality. In addition, both English and Korean audiobooks are available, offering a bilingual experience that combines reading and listening—expanding both literary enjoyment and opportunities for learning English.
