Description

In an era of rapid advances in artificial intelligence and technological change, this book addresses the question of what we should learn for the future. As Jim Keller, an engineer who has held senior positions at Intel, AMD, Apple, and Tesla, argues, we should focus on fundamentals that remain constant rather than technologies that may change within a few years.

Starting with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’s emphasis on “what will not change over the next ten years,” Kim Sang-wook, a professor of physics at Kyung Hee University known for tvN’s 〈The Dictionary of Useless Knowledge〉 series, shares enduring truths that are useful to know in an age of constant change.

The book offers a framework for understanding change through four themes: the laws of nature and human nature; the desires and biases within us; history that will continue to shape the future; and human beings, who ceaselessly assign value and meaning to the world. It argues that finding what does not change—much like the law of conservation of energy in physics—is the starting point for navigating an ever-changing world.
