한국 단행본 출판 수출 역사를 뒤바꾸며 전 세계 17개 언어권 30여 개 나라에서 인기리에 출간되고 있는 『눈물을 마시는 새』의 저자, 이영도 작가의 주요 글귀를 담은 필사노트가 황금가지에서 출간되었다. 총 3권으로 출간되는 이번 필사노트는, 1권 후회는 부정된 자신에의 그리움(폴라리스 랩소디, 티르 스트라이크 연작, 더스번 칼파랑과 사란디테 연작, 중단편소설들), 2권 나는 단수가 아니다(드래곤 라자, 퓨처워커, 그림자 자국 및 단편), 3권 셋이 하나를 상대한다(눈물을 마시는 새, 피를 마시는 새 및 단편)로 구성되어 있으며, 각기 200개 내외의 발췌글을 수록하였다.

또한 각 작품별 출판 진행까지의 과정 등 비하인드를 곁들인 편집자 노트를 추가하여 작품을 애정하는 독자들에게 읽는 즐거움을 함께 선사한다. 마지막 페이지에는 특수재질의 용지를 별도로 추가하여 잉크와 펜을 이용한 필사자를 위한 공간을 마련해 두었다.

Published as a three-volume series, the notebooks are organized by the author's major works:

Volume 1: Regret Is a Longing for the Self That Was Denied — featuring excerpts from Polaris Rhapsody, the Tyr Strike series, the Kalparang and Sarandite series, and selected novellas and short stories.
Volume 2: I Am Not a Single Being — featuring excerpts from Dragon Raja, Future Walker, Shadow Marks, and selected short stories.
Volume 3: Three Face One — featuring excerpts from The Bird That Drinks Tears, The Bird That Drinks Blood, and selected short stories.

Each volume contains approximately 200 carefully selected passages.
