[Magic Candies] English edition

Storybowl’s “Baek Heena Picture Book English Edition” is a collection that presents 12 of author Baek Heena’s representative works—such as “Moon Pops,” “Bath Fairy,” and “Magic Candies”—in their official English versions. The entire process of translation, editing, and design has been newly refined, with Professor Jieun Kiaer, a linguist at Oxford University, and English-language experts participating in the translation and review to delicately preserve the original rhythm and emotional tone.

This edition features a handy, easy-to-hold format, along with official artwork drawings and a refined, sensory design, enhancing its overall quality. In addition, English and Korean audiobooks are available separately on audiobook platforms, offering an expanded reading experience that combines both reading and listening.

This is the English edition of Baek Heena’s picture book “Magic Candies,” a story about Dongdong, a child who plays alone, gradually opening his heart by learning to listen to others through magical candies.

Dongdong, who usually plays by himself, discovers special candies at a stationery shop that allow him to hear the inner thoughts of those around him. From the sofa and his dog Guseul, to his nagging father, and even his grandmother in heaven, the gentle voices he hears—only until each candy melts away—bring about a quiet change in his heart.
