NEW Ehwa Korean 5-1

『새 이화 한국어』는 한국어 교육을 선도하는 이화여자대학교 언어교육원이 새롭게 개발한 의사소통 중심의 한국어 교재로, 이화여대 언어교육원의 고유한 특성인 의사소통 중심 학습과 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기의 통합성을 유지하면서도 더욱 효과적이고 다채로운 교수 방식과 학습 내용을 제시하고 있다.

5급은 총 10과로 구성되어 있으며, 『새 이화 한국어 5-1』에는 1-5과, 『새 이화 한국어 5-2』에는 6-10과가 수록되어 있다. 각 단원은 다시 4개의 소단원으로 나누어 하나의 주제에 대해 다양한 기능을 충분히 연습할 수 있도록 하고, 단원 마지막에는 ‘어휘와 표현 확인’ 섹션을 넣어 그 단원에서 배운 어휘와 표현을 점검할 수 있도록 구성했다. 듣기 자료는 교재의 해당 부분에 QR 코드를 넣어 학습자가 바로 실행할 수 있도록 했으며, 이화여자대학교출판문화원 홈페이지에서 듣기 자료 mp3를 다운받을 수도 있다. 5급은 지시문의 외국어 병기 없이 전체가 한국어로만 되어 있다.

『New Ewha Korean』 is a newly developed, communication-focused Korean language textbook by the Ewha Language Center at Ewha Womans University, a leading institution in Korean language education. While maintaining the center’s distinctive emphasis on communicative learning and the integration of speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, the textbook offers more effective and diverse teaching methods and learning content.

Level 5 consists of a total of 10 chapters. 『New Ewha Korean 5-1』 contains Chapters 1–5, while 『New Ewha Korean 5-2』 contains Chapters 6–10. Each chapter is further divided into four subunits, allowing learners to thoroughly practice a variety of language skills centered around a single topic. At the end of each chapter, a “Vocabulary and Expressions Review” section is included to help learners review and check the vocabulary and expressions they have learned.
