NEW Ehwa Korean 5-2

『새 이화 한국어』는 한국어 교육을 선도하는 이화여자대학교 언어교육원이 새롭게 개발한 의사소통 중심의 한국어 교재다. 의사소통 중심 학습과 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기의 통합성을 유지하면서 더욱 효과적이고 다채로운 교수 방식과 학습 내용을 제시한다. 5급은 총 10과로 구성되며, 『새 이화 한국어 5-1』에는 1-5과, 『새 이화 한국어 5-2』에는 6-10과가 수록되어 있다.

각 단원은 4개의 소단원으로 나누어 하나의 주제에 대해 다양한 기능을 연습할 수 있도록 했으며, ‘어휘와 표현 확인’을 통해 배운 내용을 점검할 수 있다. 듣기 자료는 QR 코드와 mp3로 제공하고, 5급은 전체를 한국어로 구성했다. 듣기, 말하기, 읽기, 쓰기 네 가지 언어 기능의 균형 있는 발전과 말하기 능력 강화를 중심으로 대화, 역할극, 그룹 활동과 통합 과제를 제시하며, ‘어휘와 표현 더하기’에서 속담과 관용어도 익힐 수 있도록 했다.

『New Ewha Korean』 is a newly developed, communication-focused Korean language textbook by the Ewha Language Center at Ewha Womans University, a leading institution in Korean language education. While maintaining its emphasis on communicative learning and the integration of the four language skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—it presents more effective and diverse teaching methods and learning content. Level 5 consists of 10 chapters in total, with Chapters 1–5 included in 『New Ewha Korean 5-1』 and Chapters 6–10 in 『New Ewha Korean 5-2』.

Each chapter is divided into four subunits, allowing learners to practice a variety of language skills centered around a single topic. A “Vocabulary and Expressions Review” section helps learners review and assess what they have learned. Listening materials are provided through QR codes and MP3 files, and Level 5 is written entirely in Korean.

With a focus on the balanced development of the four language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—and on strengthening speaking proficiency, the textbook includes dialogues, role-plays, group activities, and integrated tasks. The “Expanding Vocabulary and Expressions” section also allows learners to learn Korean proverbs and idiomatic expressions.
